Clinical Massage
Clinical Sports and Remedial massage in its simplest form uses manual therapeutic techniques to improve a range of muscle disorders. During the massage treatment the practitioner will use Advanced Soft Tissue Techniques and problem-specific treatment techniques that are aimed at facilitating positive change to the soft tissue layers, from superficial to deep. It can be delivered relatively ‘generally’, for an overall effect of relaxation/restoration, or more specifically to address recipients’ particular needs, such as pain, dysfunction, impairment, etc.
- Myofascial release, enabling associated postural change
- Pain relief
- Improved autonomic function
- Functional movement restoration
- Prevention of injury/dysfunction recurrence
- Enhanced quality of life
- Muscle relaxation
- Trigger point therapy
If you are recovering from musculoskeletal injury then you may need a few sessions closer together to ensure that the healing process is supported and that return to activity occurs within the safest possible time. If you are extremely active then coming for a clinical and remedial massage once every 6 weeks is recommended as this is often the time where the practitioner may become aware of restrictions that often lead to musculoskeletal injury; prevention and early detection is always better then cure of injury.
